Under you under me
You and I are the same
This skin and bones hides our souls
Were suspended in between
It's over you it's over me
We couldn't reach it if we tried
Yet you try every time
Why did you say that?
Why don't you stay and
Let me remind you
Cause I didn't see this coming
No I did not
I thought that I knew you
I guess I was wrong
Tell me there's time
To erase and rewind
I won't look back to our past
Cause if I do then it might rain
It's funny how all we have now
Are memories like loose change
If you meant what you said well then fine
And if you meant what you said well then goodbye
Behind the Song:
At first listen this might sound like a love song which in some aspects it is but at the heart of it this song is a cry for someone very dear to me. My good friend of many years told me one late night in California that he was debating committing suicide for quite a while. This took my breath away and shook me to the core. First it hurt that he held this from me for so long and second I couldn't believe my ears. I tried my best to listen and encourage him but not much really got through to him. Well, I found myself a week later trying to piece together my thoughts and ended up writing Erase and Rewind - Phillip LaRue

Erase and Rewind
Erase and Rewind
Under you under me

This skin and bones hides our souls

We couldn't reach it if we tried
Yet you try every time
Why did you say that?
